3D Designed Web-Diorama Writing

In Summary:

In the scene, there are 3 human figures on a tortoise with 4 bird-like creatures with backpacks. On the tortoise, there are several objects on top of it, ranging from barrels to glass bottles. They are all on desert-like terrain with a cloudy background.

There are about 30 or 40 objects in the scene.

Emilie used Z-Brush, Photoshop, Maya, and After-Effects.

She projects the original art onto her models in Z-Brush, then she divides them into individual assets where she then paints on top of the UV using a clipping mask. She then uses Maya to add outlines to the textures once the bulk of the process is done.

Yes, the is repetition in the artwork. The objects on the tortoise are copies and there are slight variations to certain models like the backpacks on the birds or the textures on the birds as well. Overall, each model and asset is unique and it is hard to notice.

This may have taken several weeks.

She was a fan of the original artist and wanted to start the project after coming up with the idea of it being in 3d.

In Critique:

I think that The Journey leans more towards the average range in detail.

I think the objects near the top of the tortoise have more appeal because of there being only one of them compared to the rest of the other models (crystal and ship wheel)

Maybe a sack of gold coins or other treasures around the bottom?

I think that her work deserves more praise

I have not because I was simply not interested in the task at hand at all.
